Uyoyo Edosio is the Principal ICT and Innovation Expert at the African Development Bank. In this role, she is responsible for developing the Bank's Digital Transformation Action Plan for Africa, which informs the Bank's investment in ICT for the next five years, and for supporting policies, managing loans and grants to governments, the private sector, and Regional Economic Communities.
With a portfolio exceeding half a billion dollars, Uyoyo focuses on nurturing technology clusters, unlocking investments to local technology startups, enhancing digital skills, and shaping policies to drive digital transformation continent-wide. Her key projects include leading the African Fintech Sandbox initiative, a significant investment in digital and creative enterprise projects in Nigeria, funding for the Rwanda Innovation Fund, and a digital infrastructure project in the Cabo Verde Technology Park. She also collaborates with SMART Africa on harmonizing Digital Trade Policies for ten African countries.
With over a decade of experience, Uyoyo has worked in the technology ecosystem in various capacities. Before joining the Bank, she worked as a consultant at KPMG and PwC in London, advising multinational companies across Europe, America, and Africa on innovation, risk management, and operational strategies leveraging data-driven insights.
Uyoyo's influence extends to her participation on multiple boards and her contributions to thought leadership. She has been involved with organizations such as the MasterCard Secondary Education Advisory board, provided advisory services to the United Nations and African Union on Artificial Intelligence strategies, and contributed to ECOWAS Human Capital Strategy.
She has co-authored and contributed to reports like the African Development Bank’s 2022 “Understanding the Importance of a Regulatory Sandbox”, the African Economic Outlook Report on Creating Decent Jobs, and the Potentials of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Africa. She sits on the boards of philanthropic organizations like the Meet a Need to Day foundation and the Covenant University H.O.P.E Foundation.
Uyoyo is a Development Policy and Technology Innovation Expert. She has received training from prestigious institutions including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the London School of Economics, Bradford University, and Covenant University. Her academic background encompasses degrees in International Social and Public Policy, Investment Appraisal and Development Project Management, and Computer Science.
